Breast Surgery

Breast surgeons are especially skilled at operating on the breast.  The treatment of breast cancer usually requires surgery to remove part or all of the breast (mastectomy).

Often patients like to have their breast reconstructed after cancer surgery and both breast surgeons and plastic surgeons perform reconstruction. Breasts may be enlarged or reduced for cosmetic reasons.  This is usually undertaken by plastic surgeons.
