Clinical Psychology
Clinical Psychologists work with the full range of mental health problems as well as many physical health problems.
For example; anxiety disorders, phobias, depression, obsessive compulsive problems, addictions, relationship and sexual problems, personality disorders, disturbances as a result of trauma or sexual abuse, post traumatic symptoms, chronic pain and difficulties in adjustment following accidents or those which develop in connection with physical illnesses. Patients may be seen for assessment or psychological treatment. A wide range of effective psychological therapies are available including cognitive behaviour therapy, psychotherapy and counselling. Your Clinical or Counselling Psychologist should be listed as a Chartered Psychologist with The British Psychological Society and registered with the Health Professions Council.
